After 18 UK Top Ten hits, six UK Number One Singles and 25 million record sales worldwide, one of the biggest boybands of the past twenty years will be celebrating in a special one off music spectacular, Boyzone at 20: No Matter What.
Produced by ITV Studios, Boyzone at 20: No Matter What, will see Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham perform their biggest and best-loved hits as well as a selection of songs from their new album, BZ20, in front of a live studio audience. Hosted by Dannii Minogue, the show will celebrate one of Ireland’s biggest music exports as they share intimate insights into their career. Dannii, who has shared judging duties with Ronan on The X Factor Australia this year, said: “I’m really looking forward to being back in the UK and hosting this show for some of the loveliest guys in pop. 20 years of Boyzone, what an incredible career. It will be a night of pop music to remember.”
During the one-hour special, Boyzone will give exclusive performances of classics such as Love Me For A Reason and Words, as well as their new single Love Will Save The Day.
Plus, in a unique merging of two nineties super bands, the Spice Girls’ Melanie C will join Boyzone to perform one of the band’s biggest hits, No Matter What.
The show will also include archive footage charting the band’s career, and exclusive interviews giving each band member the opportunity to tell their part of the Boyzone story. The band will also pay tribute to Stephen Gately, who passed away in 2009, and reflect on life without him in the band. Boyzone said, “To have been together for twenty years is fantastic, and this is the perfect way for us to celebrate our milestone. We love performing in front of an audience and we can’t wait to sing some of our classics once again, as well as offering our audiences something new.”
The programme was commissioned by ITV’s Controller of Entertainment John Kaye Cooper who said, “We are thrilled that Boyzone are celebrating their musical milestone with ITV. As one of the biggest bands of the nineties, hearing their story first-hand and seeing them perform some of their greatest hits will be a real treat for ITV viewers.”
Boyzone at 20, an ITV Studios production for ITV, will be screened later in the year on ITV. The programme will be executive produced by Fiona Clark and produced by Madeline Addy.
Boyzone’s new album, BZ20, will be released on 25 November.
